British Forces Blasting The Council Chamber of Sartoor Faqir

This Sketch is related to the Indian Frontier Rising of 1897-1898 And the Punitive Expedition of British Army. The Indian Frontier Rising is an important episode in the history of Swat, Dir and other adjoining areas. This sketch was drawn by Lieutenant II. Maclear of the 20th Punjab Infantry. According to the Lieutenant Maclear, this sketch was made by him when the Council Chamber of Saad Ullah, The Mad Faqir was blown by British forces. Saad ullah is popularly known as Sartoor Faqir  as well. The Buner Field Force accomplished this task. It is worth mentioning that Said Ullah led the expedition that attached the Malakand in 1897. There was a wide spread belief that Sartoor Faqir was capable of miraculous powers. He belonged to Rega, Bunir.
