Miangul Abdul Wadud was born in 1881. He was the descendant of the Saidu Baba also known as Akhund of Swat. He was made the ruler of Swat in September 1917. He was recognised by the British Government as ruler of Swat on 3rd May 1926. He ruled till 1949 and then he abdicated in favour of his son Miangul Jahanzeb. Miangul Abdul Wadud died on 1st October 1971. His funeral was offered at Aqba Palace, Saidu Sharif, Swat.
